Affording The Academy Experience

We believe an Academy education can make a difference for every boy who experiences it. Likewise, The Academy becomes a place of new ideas, new pursuits, and new perspectives, when our students come from many different communities, faiths, and economic backgrounds. We recognize that for some, full tuition stretches beyond a family's resources, which is why we strive to make the Academy experience accessible to families of all income levels. This is made possible through our need-based tuition assistance program and Tex Hill Scholarships.

Tuition Assistance

During the 2022-23 school year, SAA awarded 16% of students with tuition assistance, totaling more than $800,000. The average grant comprises approximately 65% of tuition.

Families who have been accepted to San Antonio Academy may apply for tuition assistance by completing an online application, which requires detailed, itemized financial information. Families should wait to apply until they have received an enrollment contract.

An independent, neutral service analyzes the applications and provides SAA with an estimate of how much money each family can contribute to its son’s independent school education. All tuition assistance is need-based, confidential, and remains strictly independent of the admissions process.

Applications for aid may be made at any time, provided funds are available. Many families are eligible to receive tuition assistance, and we encourage everyone to apply each year.

For application assistance, contact Gary Marvin, Director of Admissions at gmarvin@sa-academy.org or (210) 733-7331 ext. 226.

The Tex Hill Scholarship Program seeks outstanding young men who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, citizenship, and extracurricular activities and who demonstrate the potential to become leaders in the school community. The scholarships provide tuition, leadership fees, textbooks, and a stipend for uniforms to one 5th grade boys who will attend San Antonio Academy during their 6th, 7th, and 8th grade years.

Students who receive tuition assistance and are later awarded the Tex Hill Scholarship may have their grant revised to reflect the new financial agreement.
