This five-day Grand Classroom trip offers an exciting and educational adventure through the Southwest. Highlights include a service project in Phoenix, exploring Sedona, and hiking the South Kaibab Trail at the Grand Canyon. Our 8th graders will take a scenic float trip down the Colorado River, walk across the Navajo Bridge, and experience Bryce Canyon’s unique hoodoos. Additional activities include hiking in Zion National Park, sliding down Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and visiting iconic sites like Checkerboard Mesa and Emerald Pools. The trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, blending nature, adventure, and cultural exploration.

Scholarship

This trip provides hands-on learning in geology, ecology, and history by exploring the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Parks. Our 8th graders will gain knowledge through ranger talks, guided hikes, and real-world environmental education, reinforcing classroom concepts in a dynamic setting.

Leadership

Challenging hikes, such as the South Kaibab Trail and the Narrows in Zion, will encourage our boys to push their limits, make decisions, and support their brothers. Rafting on the Colorado River and navigating trails will build confidence and independence, essential leadership qualities.

Integrity

The service project at St. Mary’s Food Bank will instill a sense of responsibility and ethical action, teaching our boys the value of giving back to the community. Lessons in environmental conservation throughout the trip will reinforce integrity by emphasizing the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations.

Brotherhood

Shared experiences, from hiking breathtaking landscapes to sliding down the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, will create lasting bonds among our boys. Team-based activities, communal meals, and evening gatherings will foster camaraderie, ensuring that our 8th graders develop deeper connections and mutual respect.
