Our 8th graders are set for an immersive 5-day, 4-night adventure in Black Mountain, NC, where they’ll engage in diverse activities promoting scholarship, leadership, integrity, and brotherhood. This immersive experience encompasses exhilarating activities such as horseback riding, ziplining, whitewater rafting, and hiking, igniting curiosity and appreciation for the great outdoors.
Scholarship
Exploring the scenic landscape through horseback riding, ziplining, and whitewater rafting will ignite their curiosity and encourage scholarly appreciation for outdoor environments and adventure sports. Visiting iconic sites like the Biltmore Estate and Chimney Rock will provide insights into history and architecture, nurturing intellectual curiosity and scholarly exploration. Discussions about the historical significance of these landmarks will deepen their understanding of cultural heritage.
Leadership
Throughout the trip, students will have ample opportunities to develop leadership skills, whether navigating horse trails, conquering ziplining courses, or collaborating during whitewater rafting excursions. These outdoor challenges will empower them to take on responsibilities and guide their peers, fostering a sense of leadership and teamwork. Our boys will also participate in a service project, a significant component of this experience.
Integrity
The immersive experience in Black Mountain will also emphasize integrity as students engage in outdoor activities requiring respect for safety guidelines, ethical conduct, and responsible stewardship of the natural surroundings. We will reinforce the values of honor and integrity in this hands-on learning experience.
Brotherhood
As our 8th graders embark on this adventure together, the shared challenges and triumphs, whether on horseback trails, ziplining platforms, or scenic hikes, will undoubtedly strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. The collective experiences of the trip will create lasting memories, fostering camaraderie and unity among classmates as they navigate the diverse landscapes and activities of North Carolina.
