Total Solar Eclipse

As the total eclipse of the Sun on Monday, April 8 approaches, we wanted to reach out and let everyone know The Academy’s plans for that day. First and foremost, school will take place as usual for most of the day. We will, however, have a viewing session as the eclipse happens. Below is a timeline of our plan.

8:15 AM - Certified glasses are distributed to all students and faculty
12:59 PM - Eclipse begins
1:20 PM - Students move to Frost Field and sit with their class for viewing
1:34 PM - Eclipse at its greatest coverage
1:45 PM - Students move back to classes and resume day
2:55 PM - Eclipse complete

As a rare celestial event, experiencing this natural phenomenon together as a community will be a wonderful learning opportunity for our boys.

The Academy Fund Out-of-Uniform Day

All grades with 100% participation in The Academy Fund by Friday, April 19, earn an out-of-uniform day! Many grades are only a few students away from earning it. Check the class standings as of Tuesday, March 5. Not sure if you donated? Contact development@sa-academy.org.

The annual fund is an integral part of how independent schools function and makes a significant difference at The Academy by providing valuable resources and opportunities that turn the expected into the exceptional. A high level of participation in The Academy Fund is a demonstration of our community’s belief in our school and its mission and is a promise to future generations of Academy Boys. This is why we seek 100% participation from our community. A contribution of any size makes a difference and counts for participation.
