Dear San Antonio Academy Community,
I wanted to update you on our progress in many areas in the search for both our next Interim and Permanent Head of School roles. First, I'd like to thank each of you for your participation, in person or online, in the visit with the consultants from The Education Group last Thursday, July 8. Nearly 140 members of our school community attended these sessions, and John Cooper, Vicki Raney and Bob Kirkpatrick report that the information you provided was very useful and, above all, revealed the passion for and commitment present among all groups for The Academy. This feedback, coupled with information gathered in the recently completed constituent surveys will give TEG and the Search Committee valuable guidance as we cultivate and evaluate candidates for both the Interim and the Permanent Head positions. The results of this work will soon be seen in the School and Position Profile, which is a key component in our potential candidate search. Again, many thanks.
Periodically, particularly as we move from one phase of the search to another, we will provide you all with brief updates about our progress. In addition to our having passed through the important data-gathering phase noted above, we are making good progress on finding an Interim Head for the 2021-22 school year. We have attracted a very talented pool of candidates, and the search committee will be interviewing semifinalists for this position within the next week. Finalists will then be interviewed not long after that, so our hope is that by the end of July, the Interim Head will be in place. We certainly look forward to introducing this person to the SAA community very soon.
Sincerely, ![]() Roger C. Hill, III Chair, Board of Trustees
