Dear Academy Family and Friends:

I am pleased to announce the formation of a Search Committee for our next Head of School, who will assume office on July 1, 2022 (meanwhile, we expect that very soon we will hire an Interim Head of School for the 2021-2022 school year).

The selection of a Head of School for our beloved Academy is an awesome responsibility. It involves a detailed process that is aimed at securing a highly qualified school leader who is committed to providing every Academy student a strong foundation for life (love of learning, confidence, responsibility, love of God and country, integrity, and respect for each other).

The following individuals have humbly and gratefully accepted the responsibility to serve on the Head of School Search Committee. We are extremely grateful for the commitment of time, energy, and passion that they bring to this important task.

I have charged the Search Committee with acting expeditiously, but thoroughly, to assess candidates and make its recommendation to the Board of Trustees. The Board will then make the final decision concerning our next Head of School. We expect to complete this process sometime in the fall.

The Head of School Search process is already picking up pace. A position posting has appeared online in several national/international publications and applications have begun to arrive, a detailed School and Position Profile is under construction, and a "Head of School Search Page" section on The Academy's website will be devoted to keeping everyone informed concerning the search and will be updated throughout the process. It can be accessed here: https://www.sa-academy.org/about-saa/head-of-school-search. An online survey inviting input from all segments of our school community will be distributed soon. Search consultants from The Education Group will be on campus (and on Zoom) July 8th to discuss with various constituency groups (trustees, parents, faculty/staff, alumni and friends) what skills and attributes they want to see in the next Head of School at San Antonio Academy.
