Dear SAA Families,
Last December we announced the exciting news that San Antonio Academy will construct a new Multipurpose Athletic & Art Center (MAAC), set to begin in June. However, due to the unexpected campus closure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be able to move forward with construction ahead of schedule. This critically important project will have a major impact on SAA's future athletic, art, and music programs, and we are so grateful to our donors for making this beautiful facility a reality for the boys at San Antonio Academy for years to come.
The Board of Trustees has given approval for the project to begin in May, and we have begun to prepare our campus for this exciting next step in our school's history. Recognizing that we are still in a pandemic, we are working with Joeris to ensure employees are safe and following current local government guidelines while on our campus. Information about parking and carpool during the school year, along with other FAQs, will be forthcoming over the summer. The MAAC's overall progress will be celebrated and documented, and you will receive communication updates throughout the duration of the 14-month project.
We are all feeling the loss and disappointment due to the unexpected effects of COVID-19, and I am grateful for the enormous support and love that has been shared within our SAA Family during this challenging time. We hope this news will bring you some joy and reassurance that we will keep pushing forward to provide the best education for our boys, and we will never stop striving to be the best we can be. With your help, we will keep San Antonio Academy strong and thriving so that our current students, and future generations to come, will experience the invaluable Bond of Brotherhood that exists at SAA.
Sincerely, Clint DuBose Lane Riggs Roger Hill Head of School Board Chairman Vice-Chairman
