Online Learning Program: Week Three Update
On Monday, April 6, we begin the third week of online learning. Our next phase has shifted from learning the LMS platform to focusing on teaching and learning new content. The number of personalized lessons is growing. The frequency of live online class meetings is increasing. Please read this letter from Dr. Patrick Atkerson, Director of Curriculum & Student Services, which provides an update about building our online curriculum.
In addition to online learning, our Military Leadership Program marches forward. Col. (Ret.) Steve Marshall holds weekly meetings with the Battalion Leadership every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. This includes the Battalion Commander and his staff, the Company Commanders and their Executive Officers, and 7th Grade First Sergeants. The meetings begin each morning with school updates, followed by "Operation Strengthening The Bonds," Officer of the Day assignments, and Command Feedback.
"Operation Strengthening The Bonds," is a new initiative created by SAA's Battalion Commander, Aidan Notzon, and currently includes five phases:

Staying Connected
Thank you for the many submissions we've received thus far documenting your home-bound experiences. We've enjoyed seeing and sharing moments of boys learning, both online and outdoors, and other fun shots of boys learning to cook, playing music, creating artwork, and most importantly, spending time with their family.
In addition to SAA posting on social media and filling the pages in the Yearbook, we are also beginning to share these moments in my daily Chapel Talks. Look for your picture or video in a future show. Please continue sharing those moments with us at communications@sa-academy.org, or tag us in social media @sa_academy or #sanantonioacademy. We appreciate pictures, videos (15 seconds and under, please), and anything else you want to share with SAA during this time.
I continue to be grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
Clint DuBose Head of School
