March 17, 2020
Dear SAA Families,
Your SAA Team was on campus bright and early Monday morning and again today, working together on technology training, lesson planning, and brainstorming ways to address the COVID-19 challenge that we are all facing at this time (scroll below to see a snapshot posted on SAA's social media). I am sure each one of you is feeling the strain and have concerns about what to expect in the near future. I assure you, SAA is doing our best to help you get through this unprecedented event.
We will continue to work on our preparation throughout the week, while also taking precautions to practice social distancing to ensure all SAA employees are safe. All employees are being asked to remain connected while working from home through the duration of this event. Work and school will look much different than we are used to while we navigate this new landscape, but we are making the commitment to do our best for our families and for our School.
We have created a communication plan that will provide you with consistent weekly updates. We also understand that you are likely being overwhelmed with information at this time, so we plan to only send emails that contain important and useful information. We have created an SAA COVID-19 portal on the school's website that provides the most up-to-date SAA information. The site also includes various resource links including the CDC, WHO, and SA Metro Health, and beginning tomorrow, staff-written blog posts will be added to create conversations and build community around this challenging time.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, you will receive an email that includes the following information:
- What to expect with online learning for Primary School and Upper School
- Update on the cancellation of upcoming School Events
- Head of School update on school closure
There is no doubt this is a uncertain and challenging moment in our history, however, I believe our community, our city, our state, and our nation are strong and we will get through this together.
God bless you all.
Sincerely,
Clint DuBose
