Summer At The Academy offers a wide array of summer day camp classes taught by more than 50 of the area’s top teachers, coaches and artisans. Our program is for boys and girls ages 4 and older, and provides excellent opportunities to CREATE, LEARN, EXPLORE, and have fun!

102 Renaissance Fair (Ages 4-12)

“King John and the Abbot” – A Medieval Mystery! Drama Kids summer camp offers a unique combination of creative and entertaining theatre activities for ages 4–12. Our Renaissance Fair play is looking for Knights, Princesses, and Dragons to bring the story to life. Help the royal kingdom finally rid the land of the evil dragon; create your own Renaissance story! At the end of the week, our young actors will take the stage to demonstrate their skills in a special performance for family and friends.

104 Hot Wheels Racing: Extreme Builders (Ages 4-7)

Are you a mega Hot Wheels track builder? This is an exciting, fast-paced session for young engineers and speedsters to build the largest, longest, and most elaborate Hot Wheels tracks imaginable! While they build, students will explore the scientific principles of speed, force, inertia, and momentum. Every participant will receive a Hot Wheels “driver’s license,” trophies, and medals, plus a brand-new Hot Wheels car to collect daily! The week culminates in the Mega Race on Friday, where learners show off their skills in a display of pure speed. Everyone is a winner in Hot Wheels Extreme Builders!

108 Rhythm Rascals (Ages 4-6)

Get ready for a lively week of musical adventures! Rhythm Rascals invites kids to explore the exciting world of rhythm through hands-on play, movement, and creative crafts. Children will experiment with percussion instruments—drums, tambourines, shakers, and rhythm sticks—while learning simple beats, building coordination, and boosting motor skills. Each day includes a fun craft project where kids design and decorate their own musical instruments and accessories, letting their creativity shine. They’ll also participate in rhythm games, movement activities, and teamwork-based music challenges. At the end of the week, students share what they’ve learned with a joyful in-class Rhythm Showcase, celebrating their creativity and newfound musical confidence.

110 Dig It Dino & Geology Camp (Ages 4-8)

Get ready to dig into a week of discovery, science, and fun at “Dig It! Dino & Geology Camp!” Young explorers will travel through time to uncover the mysteries of the Earth, from sparkling gems to prehistoric giants. Campers will pan for gold, collect pyrite, and uncover treasures like rubies, emeralds, and sapphires while learning about their meanings and origins. They will also investigate how rocks form and change through hands-on activities that reveal the secrets of the rock cycle. Then it’s time to step into the prehistoric world and explore the age of the dinosaurs. Kids will examine fossils, hunt for dinosaur eggs, and even create their own fossil replica to take home. Along the way, they will learn what dinosaurs ate, how they lived, and what may have caused their extinction. With interactive lessons, exciting science activities, and a roaring good time at every turn, this camp truly rocks, and roars!

112 Wildcat War Games (Ages 5-8)

Get ready for the ultimate adventure at Wildcat War Games! Join the Wildcat team and prepare to engage in exciting daily battles, where teamwork, strategy, and leadership are the keys to victory. You’ll develop your skills as a warrior by learning how to use a variety of battle equipment, including Nerf guns, water blasters, water balloons, and more. The battles will test your ability to think quickly and make smart decisions, as you’ll need to master many military tactics to outsmart your opponents. Discover that the best warriors win the battle in their minds long before stepping onto the field. Every day, you’ll conquer new challenges, outwit rivals, and have a blast along the way. Get ready for a wild adventure! Each day, little explorers will discover amazing animals from around the world through fun crafts, games, and hands-on activities. It’s the perfect mix of learning and play for every young animal lover!

116 Wildcat Soccer (Ages 5-12)

Score goals and have a ball with Wildcat Soccer, where the world’s most popular sport takes center stage! Led by Keystone soccer coach Kyle Unruh, this week-long program offers a fun-filled adventure in skill development, technical drills, lead-up games, and scrimmages suitable for all skill levels. Participants will not only sharpen their soccer prowess but also explore the rich history of the sport, culminating in a tournament at the end of the week. Activities are designed for both large and small groups to ensure a dynamic and inclusive experience. To celebrate their hard work, every player will receive a medal at the end of the session. 120 Speed and Agility Training (Ages 10-12)

Speed and Agility Training is a high-energy experience where young athletes learn to move like their older counterparts - faster, sharper, and with confidence. Through fun drills, reaction games and technique-focused activities, students explore the science behind acceleration, quick direction changes, sprint mechanics, and coordination. Each day blends movement with simple skill lessons so students not only get faster but understand why their bodies move the way they do. This class builds athleticism and teamwork while giving students a chance to challenge themselves and celebrate measurable improvement - all leading up to a special final-day field trip to Alamo Stadium to practice and showcase their skills in a real stadium setting.

122 Magic of Making: Crafting, Painting, Origami (Ages 10-12)

Step into a world where imagination takes shape! Magic of Making is a hands-on creative arts course designed for students who love to build, design, and express themselves through a variety of art forms. Throughout this class, students will explore crafting, experiment with painting techniques, fold their way through the beautiful world of origami, and create unique door décor pieces that showcase their personal style. Learners will practice fine motor skills, develop artistic confidence, and engage in guided projects that spark creativity while encouraging independent design choices. From crafting sculptures to designing colorful signs and decorations, each project helps students discover the magic that happens when ideas come to life through art. 124 Minecraft Creative World (Ages 6-12)

Campers will be immersed in a fun and safe learning environment, creating and exploring on a secure server dedicated exclusively to Summer at the Academy students. In addition to playing, campers will learn the essentials of multiplayer etiquette and online safety. Working in teams, they will tackle specific tasks and creative challenges. Let’s build together in a virtual wonderland!

126 Embodied Logic Basketball Camp (Ages 4-6)

Embodied Logic Basketball Camp: Where passion meets purpose on the court. Designed for student-athletes of all skill levels, our camp focuses on developing the mind, body, and game through high-energy drills and elite skill development. Led by a certified USA Basketball coach with collegiate experience, campers master the fundamentals, teamwork, and leadership — skills that translate both on and off the court. Parents can trust that their athletes are training in a positive, structured environment designed to build confidence, discipline, and Basketball IQ. Whether your player is just starting out or preparing for the next level, Embodied Logic provides the foundation for growth, excellence, and a lifelong love for the game.

128 Mastering Multiplication: Beginners (Ages 8-10)

The goal of this one-week enrichment class is to provide your student with the ability to access the beginning multiplication facts. In other words, if asked for the product of any two numbers that we have covered in class, the student will have learned a technique for calculating or remembering that information. Students will learn different techniques, including song memorization, a simple counting approach, the steeple multiplication method, possibly squaring numbers, and the lattice multiplication method for larger numbers. This class will be fast-paced and engaging.

130 LEGO Creative Challenges (Ages 5-10)

Join us in the fun of building with LEGO bricks and elements to create your own designs, or work with others using LEGO base plates, 1x2, 1x3, and 1x4 bricks as you discover the beauty of interlocking for strong builds. Each day, a building challenge will be presented: interlocking to make towers, then using windows & doors, adding LEGO elements such as fences, animals, and vegetation, and building with other unique pieces. We will also create pyramids and mosaics, and build vehicles and facades. Verbal and communication skills are enhanced as students describe their creations to others. Not only will creativity be demonstrated, but students will also work with counting and estimation. Throughout the week, builders also cooperate with one another in the challenging task of disassembling, sorting, and returning LEGO elements to the correct bins. It is an amazing week of fun and exciting builds!

132 S.T.E.A.M. Robotics: Computer-Controlled Robots (Ages 7-12)

Join us for a week of LEGOs and computers as we develop building skills in S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) as well as language and communication concepts. This workshop features robots built with specific LEGO bricks and elements and focuses on building robots (boat, soccer kicker and goalie, alligator, and more). Throughout the week, students will create robots that incorporate a variety of parts (such as a motor, tilt sensor, or motion sensor). To control their robot’s movements, students will use a specially designed LEGO USB Hub programmed through computer software. To advance their skills, students are encouraged to design their own computer program to operate their robots.

134 Potter & Paint Studies (Ages 10-12)

Let your child’s creativity shine in this hands-on, clay and painting workshop! Kids will learn foundational hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building, along with basic painting and glazing skills. We will sculpt and decorate their very own food-safe bowl, plate, or coffee mug. They’ll also craft and personalize a decorated picture frame, perfect for their favorite family photo keepsake! No prior pottery experience is needed—just creativity, imagination, and a willingness to try something new and get a little messy!

136 Cuentos & Cocina: Spanish Storyteller (Ages 4-7)

Once upon a time... in Español! In Cuentos & Cocina, campers aged 4-7 will bring bilingual stories to life through food, art, and language. Each day, we open a new book to learn Spanish vocabulary for animals, colors, and feelings. Campers will whip up a yummy snack inspired by the story (like Oruga fruit kabobs!), craft their own puppets or props, and use their new Spanish words to help retell the tale. It’s a playful blend of mixing, making, and speaking designed to build confidence in early learners. Join us for a week where every recipe tells a story—en Español!

142A The Literacy Lab: Week 1 of 2 (Ages 5-6)

Welcome to The Literacy Lab - Summer Edition! This TWO-WEEK, interactive summer camp helps young learners master the fundamentals of reading and writing through the Orton-Gillingham approach. Campers will explicitly review and write the 70 phonograms, recognize and manipulate sounds, practice reading skills, and build confidence in their literacy journey. Using creativity to reinforce learning, Campers will enjoy making fun crafts that connect to the phonograms and book of study. Guided by certified instructors (M.Ed., CALT, Spalding), we will read exciting stories highlighting phonetic patterns and enjoy rhymes and chants to solidify our understanding of sounds and symbols. Through fun games, they will connect sounds to letters and words, making learning enjoyable and playful!

158 Jr Doctor: Medical School (Ages 4-8)

Put on your doctor coat and grab your stethoscope, it is time to join Jr. Doctor Medical School Camp! Future doctors, nurses, and surgeons will have a blast learning what it is like to help people feel better. Campers will use real doctor tools, wrap pretend injuries, take care of “patients,” and learn how the body works. They will listen to heartbeats, check reflexes, and even diagnose make-believe illnesses. Every day brings fun, imagination, and hands-on activities that make learning about medicine exciting. Kids will love pretending to work in a real doctor’s office and discovering what it takes to keep everyone healthy and strong. Financial Literacy is a fun, hands-on course designed to teach students essential skills for managing money. Participants will explore the basics of budgeting, the importance of saving, the fundamentals of investing, and the concept of credit. Our goal is to empower students to make wise, confident decisions with their finances. Through interactive activities, students will practice counting currency, play games centered on purchasing merchandise, and master the art of making change. 178 LEGO Build a City (Ages 7-12)

Explore the exciting world of LEGO bricks and unleash your creativity as you construct a vibrant miniature city! Build awe-inspiring structures such as airports, skyscrapers, fire and police stations, sports stadiums, office buildings, homes, bridges, towers, train stations, schools, hospitals, roads, parks, playgrounds, farms and ranches, and more. This is a journey in creativity that blends fun and learning where mathematics, engineering principles, measurement, estimation, analysis, architectural forms, and geometric concepts come to life in the design of your unique creations. Discover the art of interlocking and other building techniques that help to create solid structures that can be as tall as you choose to create. Design and customize vehicles (such as cars, trucks, planes, boats, and buses) to add a dynamic touch to your cityscape. Chinese Culinary Adventure: Everyone loves Chinese food! It is delicious and fun to make. Welcome to The Literacy Lab - Summer Edition! This ONE-WEEK (afternoons) interactive summer camp helps young learners ages 6-8 master the fundamentals of reading and writing through the Orton-Gillingham approach. Campers will explicitly review and write the 70 phonograms, recognize and manipulate sounds, practice reading skills, and build confidence in their literacy journey. Students will review the six simple machines, study designs, identify complex methods used to solve simplistic problems, create designs of their own and attempt to create “Rube Goldberg” devices in the classroom. Get ready to blast off on an out-of-this-world adventure! In this fun and creative class, young astronauts will explore the wonders of outer space through crafts, stories, and interactive lessons. Each day, we’ll make a new space-themed project, from sparkling stars to colorful planets and rocket ships, while learning fascinating facts about our solar system. Students will discover what makes each planet unique, how stars shine, and what it’s like to be an astronaut exploring the galaxy. This class combines art, science, and imagination to spark curiosity and creativity in every little space explorer!

878 Wildcat Dodgeball (Ages 7-12)

880 Learn & Launch: Jr. Rocketry (Ages 7-10) - CLASS CLOSED

We’ll use interactive stations, models, NASA curriculum and books to learn about rocketry and space travel. Kids will have fun learning the basics of Newton’s Laws and the physics of propulsion, as they experiment with various projectiles throughout the week: balloon rockets, “stomp” rockets, water rockets and more! Students will build a Star Hopper rocket in class and launch it on Friday. Family & Friends are invited to the Launch Party to share in the excitement and thrills!

882 Young World Travelers (Ages 4-7)

Prepare to hop on your imaginary airplane, Little Explorers - adventure is waiting! Young World Travelers is an exciting class for 4 to 7-year-olds who are curious about the globe and love to explore through creativity and play. We’ll “visit” several countries, experiencing their cultures through art, music, dance, games and storytelling. Participants will make bright and colorful crafts, and even create dough maps to explore countries and continents in a fun, tactile way. In addition to building knowledge about different cultures, students will develop social and fine motor skills; additional activities include scavenger hunts and special take-home creations, making the learning engaging and memorable. Start packing!
