Physical Education
San Antonio Academy's physical education curriculum promotes a healthy lifestyle and lifelong wellness by fostering our students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being. P.E. is taken by all students each day, and teaches fundamentals of sports like football, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse.
Primary School
Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade are introduced to age-appropriate balance, speed, and agility training. They play games and activities that carry over to future knowledge and understanding of overall body movement and mechanics for a wide variety of sports and activities. Daily physical education classes teaches students to be active and lead a healthy lifestyle.
Elementary School
Building upon what is taught in the Primary School years, 3rd-5th grade students are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, kindness, and respect for all. The boys receive an overall understanding of the games, sports, and sportsmanship.
Middle School
Physical Education and athletic classes for 6th-8th graders incorporates strength, speed, and agility training. These classes also teach muscle terminology and how it relates to specific exercises and activities. Classes include different games and activities for a variety of skill levels. For students electing to play in any of The Academy's nine competitive sports, practice takes place during their P.E. class time and carries over into after school.
