Academy students are encouraged to take part in any athletic activity they are interested in. We offer physical education and after-school competitive sports programs to give many opportunities for students to enjoy positive, school-sponsored athletics. The athletic program is also structured to give students knowledge of higher-level athletic expectations.

SAA’s annual Student vs. Alumni Basketball Game brought Wildcat spirit and brotherly competition to the McCombs Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 13. Alumni of all ages returned to the court to face off against current members of The Academy’s Blue Team in a spirited match that marked the start of the 2024-25 basketball season.
The 2024 Wildcat basketball teams thrilled fans with wins in their 2024-25 season home openers against Concordia Lutheran on Tuesday, November 12.
Daniel Covert '15 recently won a gold medal with the UT men's 8+ varsity boat at the "Head of the Colorado" (Pumpkinhead) regatta on October 26. In addition, Daniel won the Men's Single Sculls gold medal at the Steelhead Regatta on the Trinity River in Fort Worth on September 29. Both Daniel and his twin brother, Jackson, '15, love being at UT Law.
The 2024 Wildcat Cross Country team made its season debut at the TMI meet on Saturday, September 21. They did an outstanding job, with multiple boys finishing with their personal best times. In the 5th and 6th grade division race, the Wildcats took all five top spots. Pascal L. finished first with a time of 12:42, followed by Lawson F., Lukas B., Knox C., and Blake F.
In a thrilling home opener held at Trinity University Stadium, the Wildcats continued their winning streak by shutting out the Cole Cougars in both the White and Blue team matchups. Many of their little Primary School buddies came out to support the boys and cheer them on to victory. With this win, the Wildcats improved their record to 3-0.
