Marshall Steves Jr., Class of 1964 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

Three generations of Academy boys! We enjoyed having SAA alumnus Marshall Steves Jr. join us as the Alumni Monday speaker during Chapel on April 3, 2023. Mr. Steves attended The Academy almost 60 years ago! Additionally, his son Marshall Steves III attended The Academy, and his grandson is a current 2nd grader.

Mr. Steves spoke to the boys about his fond memories of The Academy and recalled many people who he considers to have had an important impact on his life.

In his Chapel talk, Mr. Steves walked us through some of his favorite memories of The Academy and encouraged the boys to take in and enjoy all that they can during their time here. He mentions how special our school is and the people that put so much work and effort into making it that way. He goes on to credit SAA as the place where he "learned how to be a part of a team" and where he "learned how to learn."

Marshall Steves Jr. graduated from The Academy in 1964 and went on to attend and graduate from TMI. After High School, Mr. Steves attended Harvard and studied applied sciences before deciding he wanted to switch paths to becoming a lawyer. He then went on to attend The University of Texas Law School.

The Steves family are fourth-generation legacies of SAA, beginning with Marshall Steves Sr., and currently being fulfilled by Sam Bell, Galt, and Marshall IV.

Thank you, Marshall, for sharing your wonderful memories and stories with us.
