On Monday, February 23, 2026, San Antonio Academy welcomed alumnus Lance Reed ’03 back to campus as the featured speaker for Alumni Monday. Now the Central Texas Director of Sales for Cisco Eagle and a proud SAA parent, Reed is the father of two children, including Hudson, a current Pre-K student at The Academy. After graduating from SAA, Reed attended TMI for high school and later earned his degree from Texas Christian University. During his visit, he reflected on his time at The Academy and shared how its values continue to shape both his professional career and family life.

During his conversation with students, Reed shared fond memories of his years at The Academy, including morning routines filled with four square, basketball, and time spent with friends. He spoke appreciatively of the lasting friendships formed during events like the 8th grade retreat and of the strong sense of community that remains unchanged more than two decades later. Reed also reflected on the influence of faculty members such as Coach Heineman, who inspired his love for basketball and modeled dedication by opening the gym outside of school hours. He also noted the consistent care and compassion shown to him by teachers at SAA. 

Reed emphasized that SAA’s motto- “Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be."- has had a lasting impact on his life. He credits the Academy with instilling a strong work ethic, decision-making, and leadership. Now as a parent, he shared that enrolling his son at SAA was an easy decision, rooted in his own positive experiences and confidence in the school’s values. Reed encouraged current students to appreciate the opportunities the school offers and to embrace the Academy’s motto, reminding them that it will guide them well beyond their years at SAA.
