Forrest Robertson - Class of 1951 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

On Monday, August 18, 2025, San Antonio Academy welcomed back alumnus Forrest Robertson, class of 1951, as its first Alumni Monday speaker for the 2025-26 school year. He shared stories of adventure, service, and lessons learned since his time at SAA.

After graduating from SAA, he attended TMI, where he played football, swam on two state championship teams, ran track, and even marched in Mardi Gras parades as part of the drill team. He later studied at Denison University in Ohio, where summers became the highlight of his youth, spending time camping in the California mountains, working in Venezuela, building houses in San Antonio, managing stage productions, and training at military camps.

His Army service took him around the world, eventually leading to a civilian career at Randolph Air Force Base. There, he managed financial and personnel programs for over 1,400 Air Force community operations, including clubs, childcare centers, and flying programs.

Reflecting on Academy days, he fondly remembered playing marbles, dodgeball, and ice skating at San Pedro Park. He credited Coach Pearce’s math lessons as foundational to his success, while also admitting one regret: not dedicating himself to learning to speak Spanish, encouraging the boys to become bilingual.

He closed by reminding students to seize opportunities, especially during summer breaks, and to stay flexible when life takes unexpected turns.
