Dillon McManus - Class of 2016 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

On Monday, August 25, 2025, San Antonio Academy welcomed back alumnus Dillon McManus, class of 2016, to speak to students about the lessons he has carried with him since graduating. Now a second-year law student at St. Mary's University and a member of his school’s national trial team, he reflected on how his time at The Academy continues to shape his path.

Through stories of his own experiences, Dillon emphasized the school’s motto: Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be. He reminded students that honesty builds trust, kindness leaves a lasting impact, and striving for excellence in even the smallest details pays off in life.

He reassured students that plans often change, sharing how he once dreamed of becoming a computer developer and coder but is now pursuing law. “Everything falls in its proper place,” he said. Dillon also reflected on accountability, attention to detail, and the importance of treating others with respect.

He closed by reminding the boys of the unique gift of an Academy education. “Every single one of you is here for a reason,” he said. “You don’t just owe it to your school or your parents to be your best—you owe it to yourselves.”
