It was a pleasure to have SAA alumnus, Roan Erwin, class of 2018, as our Alumni Monday speaker on January 23, 2023. Roan spoke to the boys about the lasting bonds he created during his time at The Academy and focused on the people/educators that he says "cultivates the experiences and shapes the memories" of every Academy Boy.

Roan graduated from The Academy in 2018 and went on to graduate from Alamo Heights High School in 2022. He is currently a freshman at Trinity University.

During his Chapel talk, he wanted to spotlight the impact that specific teachers had on his development as a young boy and how it has led him to be a better man of character. One of those teachers being Coach Leon McNeil who he credits as not only playing a huge role in his development as a football player but as a young man trying to find his noble purpose.

He ended by reminding and encouraging the boys to always remember the motto: Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be. It's the perfect formula for being great men of character.
