We had the honor of being joined by SAA alumnus, Landes Rangel, class of 2009, on November 14, 2022, as our Alumni Monday speaker. As a current San Antonio Police Officer, Landes spoke to our boys about perseverance and never giving up on something you want. He credits his time at SAA for giving him the qualities of a leader and teaching him how to be headstrong to endure his training in the Police Academy. 

Officer Rangel told the boys of his journey to becoming an SAPD officer, which turned into a lesson in never giving up on yourself or what you are pursuing. He encouraged them to get back up every time life gets them down, and that if they want something in this world, they have to work hard for it. 

"The world owes you nothing, but with your education that you are getting here and the sacrifices that are being made to send you here, you owe it to yourself and to the world to make it a better place with whatever you choose to do," said Rangel.
