Charles Noble Jr., Class of 1943 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

It was such a treat to have Charles Noble Jr. ’43 join us for Alumni Monday on April 11 -- he graduated from The Academy almost 80 years ago!

After attending SAA, Noble attended TMI for high school and graduated with a Business Administration & Economics degree from Rice University. He told us about his experience in the military during the Korean War and how he helped test hydrogen bombs and atomic weapons.

He spoke on the strong foundation laid by The Academy and the leadership skills and brotherhood that are fostered through the school’s programming.

“The relationship between the older students and younger students is something you can’t get at other schools,” said Noble. “The younger students look up to the older fellows to get good guidance, and the older cadets have the joy of helping the young guys. It’s a great feeling to help guide them along in the right direction.”

Fun Fact: The Noble/Maverick family was inducted into SAA’s Blue Bonnet Legacy Society in 2018, which recognizes families who have sent four or more generations of students to San Antonio Academy. Pictured: Charles Noble Jr. ’43, with his son, Sam Noble ’79, and his cousin Robert, class of 2030.
