2025 San Antonio Academy Alumni Association Young Alumnus Award

San Antonio Academy Alumni Association is pleased to honor and celebrate Jonathon Schneider ’04 as the recipient of the 2025 Young Alumnus Award. The Young Alumnus Award was established by the SAA Alumni Association in 2022 to recognize alumni ages 35 and under who are rising stars and who excel in representing the four pillars of San Antonio Academy graduates - scholarship, leadership, integrity, and brotherhood.

Born in San Antonio in 1989, Jonathon Schneider graduated from San Antonio Academy in 2004. He later attended Alamo Heights High School and graduated from Texas A&M University in the Class of 2012. Along the way, he played varsity football and lacrosse and earned the impressive rank of Eagle Scout.

A commitment to service has been a lifelong hallmark for Jonathon, who enjoys volunteering for veteran and youth organizations in his spare time. Today, Jonathon is an insurance broker and is also the proud owner and operator of Legacy Water Storage and Texas Rainwater Systems, a water storage tank supplier and installer of rainwater collection systems. The inspiration for his water-centered work stems from his upbringing with two farmer-rancher grandfathers as well as a first job post-college managing operations and projects for a ranch in Dimmit and Maverick counties.

In addition, Jonathon is a member of several civic and charitable organizations, such as The Texas Cavaliers, The Texas Order of St. Hubertus, and Texas Wildlife Association, among other charitable organizations. As a loyal SAA alumnus, Jonathon remains true to the timeless values and traditions of leadership, scholarship, integrity, and brotherhood that he learned as a student. Over the years, he has returned regularly to participate in alumni events like the Alumni Lacrosse Game and Gather Under the Oak Tree. In December 2001, he also received many accolades for his Alumni Monday presentation during chapel. He uniquely related to the boys, wearing his old Dress Blue jacket and concluding his inspiring presentation with push-ups on stage with a couple of volunteers.

Jonathon and his wonderful wife, Sallie, live in Fredericksburg with their dog, Frankie.

Previously, Matthew Myers, JD '03 and Jamey Steen '03, received the Young Alumnus Award in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
