Where Boyhood is Celebrated
Since 1886, The Academy has done more than prepare boys for high school. We educate them to succeed in life – scholastically, emotionally, and physically. All aspects of the SAA experience are focused on the educational and developmental needs of boys. In other words, we know boys.
Academy Boys graduate with a strong academic foundation, a positive self-image, strong leadership skills, and much more. Boys learn that integrity, pride in achievement, and kindness are as important as their scholastic work, and what it truly means to be a gentleman.
At The Academy, boys are taught to Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be.®

The Gurian Institute recently announced San Antonio Academy's re-certification as a "Gurian Model School." This means that SAA has been trained and adheres to the educational concepts the institute's founder, Michael Gurian, has established for same-sex education. Gurian’s approach is based upon three foundational concepts: (1) boys and girls learn differently; (2) nurture the nature; and (3) understand, monitor, and guide cultural influences.
