Will Watson - Class of 2007 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

Will Watson - Class of 2007 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

San Antonio Academy welcomed back alumnus Will Watson ’07 as the Alumni Monday speaker on December 1, 2025. Returning to campus for the first time in several years, Will shared reflections on his time at The Academy and the life lessons that have guided him through his education, career, and personal growth.

Alumni Monday - Will Watson

After graduating from SAA, Will attended Alamo Heights High School and later earned his degree from Texas Christian University. He went on to work alongside his father in the family’s air conditioning and heating business before earning his real estate license and pursuing appraisal studies. Throughout his talk, he emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and not being afraid to try new things, even when failure seems possible.

Will encouraged students to "find something you like, try something new, and you might surprise yourself.” He credited The Academy for instilling confidence, curiosity, and humility — qualities that helped him overcome shyness and take on leadership roles later in life. He also reflected fondly on the faculty who made a lasting impact, including Mr. Brendan Moore, Mr. Barry Bradley, and Coach Mike Heineman, who encouraged him to persevere on the basketball court and beyond.

Drawing inspiration from his former headmaster, Mr. Webster, Will reminded students that success is built through effort and integrity, quoting the phrase, “Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good is your better and your better is your best.”

Closing his presentation, he urged students to appreciate their time at The Academy, seek help when needed, and remember that “a winner is a loser who tried one more time.” His heartfelt message served as both a reflection of gratitude and a powerful reminder of The Academy’s lasting influence on its alumni.
