Wildcats Reunite on the Court as Students Face Alumni in Annual Basketball Showdown

San Antonio Academy’s annual Student vs. Alumni Basketball Game brought Wildcat spirit and brotherly competition to the McCombs Gymnasium on Wednesday, November 13. Alumni of all ages returned to the court to face off against current members of The Academy’s Blue Team in a spirited match that marked the start of the 2024-25 basketball season.

“I think this was the closest match-up I’ve seen in all my years of refereeing this game,” said Coach Mike “Mac” McClintock.

The alumni team ultimately held their ground with a final score of 45-38, extending their undefeated streak over the 7th- and 8th-grade boys.

The gymnasium was filled with enthusiastic students, faculty, families, and alumni as they watched Wildcats past and present share in the friendly competition. After the game, both teams enjoyed a pizza party, concluding the evening with camaraderie and shared memories.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, San Antonio Academy welcomed back alumnus Pierce Kellogg, class of 2014, for the latest installment of Alumni Monday, introduced by seventh graders Liam Cox and interviewed by students Cooper Urban and George Mauzé. Following his time at SAA, Pierce graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 2018 and later from UTSA. He now manages over a million dollars in inventory for Joseph's Men's Store.
