The 2025-2026 school year was one to remember for Academy athletics, as SAA Wildcat teams across multiple sports demonstrated determination, discipline, and championship-level performance. From undefeated seasons to tournament titles and standout individual accomplishments, SAA athletes represented the school with pride throughout the year.
Fall Sports
Football
The Wildcat football team delivered an impressive season, finishing with a 6-2 record. The Wildcats competed with grit and consistency all year, with their only two losses coming against Boerne Geneva. The team showcased toughness on both sides of the ball and continued to build upon the strong tradition of Academy football.
Winter Sports
Cross Country
The cross country team demonstrated remarkable endurance and competitiveness during the season. At the TMI Invitational, Academy runners claimed 8 of the top 17 spots in the field. The Wildcats also secured a 3rd Place Team finish at the ISAL Championship meet. In the 7th and 8th grade race, Robert Altmeyer finished 3rd overall, while Yadi Vera earned a strong 7th place finish in a field of 62 runners.
Basketball
On the basketball court, the 6th and 7th grade Wildcats finished the season with an outstanding 8-2 record and won the ISAL Championship title. Their teamwork, discipline, and relentless effort helped secure the championship and made for an exciting season filled with memorable performances.
Spring Sports
Track & Field
The Academy Track & Field program continued to excel against strong competition. The 6th grade Wildcats finished among the top five teams out of 15 competing schools, while the 7th and 8th grade team earned a top-eight finish out of 15 teams. Individually, Edward Guarjado highlighted the season by winning the Triple Jump Overall Championship. Wildcat athletes also earned numerous top-three finishes across multiple events, showcasing the depth and strength of the program.
Golf
Academy golfers enjoyed tremendous success throughout the season with strong finishes in several major tournaments. The Wildcats earned both 1st and 2nd Place honors in the Eagle Division at the Willow Springs Tournament, followed by a 2nd Place finish in the Birdie Division at the Olmos Basin Tournament. The season concluded with a 3rd Place Team finish in the Birdie Division at the SACAL Championship Tournament, capping off another impressive year.
Lacrosse
SAA lacrosse celebrated a historic season as both teams claimed STYXLA Championships. The White Team completed an undefeated championship season, while the Blue Team also captured a league title. The achievement marked the first time in school history that both Wildcat lacrosse teams were crowned champions in the same season, making it a landmark year for the program.
Across every sport, The Academy student-athletes competed with excellence, sportsmanship, and brotherhood. Their accomplishments this year reflect countless hours of hard work by players and coaches alike and continue to strengthen the proud tradition of Wildcat athletics.

On Friday, May 22, San Antonio Academy celebrated its 140th Commencement with a morning filled with tradition, reflection, and celebration as families, faculty, alumni, and honored guests gathered to recognize the Class of 2026.

Growth, discovery, and brotherhood defined this year's End-of-Year Culminating Experiences at San Antonio Academy. Our students expanded their education throughout Texas and the Southwest through excursions designed specifically for how boys learn.

The Class of 2022 returned to campus for a special reunion just days before their high school graduations. Gathering in Ellison Hall, where they once started their days as Academy cadets, they reconnected with former teachers, coaches, and classmates. It was an evening filled with reflection, laughter, and reminders of the lasting bond of brotherhood formed at The Academy.
