The Wildcat Way: Building Our Foundation

San Antonio Academy started the 2026-27 school year by introducing The Wildcat Way: Building Our Foundation, a two-day experience for our Elementary and Middle School students, designed to establish a shared understanding of the values, expectations, and traditions that shape life at The Academy.
Across the first two days of the school year, students participated in focused mini-lessons covering key Academy standards, including chapel and dining hall expectations, uniforms, The Academy Motto and Pillars, technology use, class schedules, and other essential school norms. Rather than simply presenting rules, the sessions connected expectations to the everyday actions that help build a strong community.
Time for reflection and discussion was an essential part of each day, along with opportunities to ask questions, share perspectives, and connect what they learned to their own experiences. Engaging, collaborative activities, including the Human Bridge, relay races, and scavenger hunts, also gave students opportunities to put the school's values into action.
The Wildcat Way set the tone for the year ahead, giving students a clear foundation for how we live, learn, and lead together at San Antonio Academy.

On Monday, September 14th, 2026, San Antonio Academy welcomed longtime educator and honorary alumnus Brendan Moore as the featured guest for Alumni Monday. Hosted by current Academy eighth graders John Wilson K. and Anderson D., the conversation highlighted Mr. Moore’s journey from Ireland to Texas, his many years at The Academy, and the impact he has had on generations of Academy boys.

We invite our Primary School grandparents to experience how the boys begin their days at SAA and hear from Gary Marvin, teacher of our “All Fired Up” grilling elective!

🔹 1st & 2nd Grade: Friday, Sept. 25
Grandparents arriving separately may meet their grandsons in the Ellison Hall foyer as the boys come in from the playground with their classes, before sitting together for the program.

San Antonio Academy opened the 2026-27 school year with The Wildcat Way: Building Our Foundation, a two-day experience designed to give Elementary and Middle School students a shared understanding of what it means to be an Academy Boy. Students explored the traditions, values, and expectations that shape daily life at SAA, including The Academy Motto and Pillars, chapel, lunchroom etiquette, uniforms, technology use, and classroom routines. Reflection and conversation gave the boys space to consider something deeper: not simply what is expected of them, but why those expectations matter.

The 2025-2026 school year was one to remember for Academy athletics, as SAA Wildcat teams across multiple sports demonstrated determination, discipline, and championship-level performance. From undefeated seasons to tournament titles and standout individual accomplishments, SAA athletes represented the school with pride throughout the year.
