Posted February 12, 2026

The San Antonio Academy Class of 2026 took center stage this week, performing Shakespeare’s Hamlet before an eager audience of family, friends, faculty, staff, and fellow students. Both 8th grade sections brought the classic play to life with remarkable enthusiasm, filling Ellison Hall with laughter, energy, and applause.

2026 8th Grade Shakespeare Play

A beloved SAA tradition, the annual 8th Grade Shakespeare Play combines literature and performance as an integral part of the 8th-grade language arts curriculum. Through this experience, students don’t just study Shakespeare; they inhabit his characters, gaining a deeper appreciation for his timeless themes while engaging in the kind of active, hands-on learning that resonates with middle school boys.

Guided by longtime teacher Mr. Brenden Moore, who has helmed this production for more than three decades, the students spent five weeks rehearsing during their language arts period. Their hard work and commitment shone brightly on stage, making this performance a memorable highlight of their final year at The Academy.
