SAA's Class of 2025 Present Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'
Published February 6, 2025
The San Antonio Academy Class of 2025 took the stage this week, presenting Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream to an enthusiastic audience of family, friends, faculty, staff, and Academy brothers. Both 8th grade sections delivered spirited performances, filling Ellison Hall with laughter and applause as they embraced their roles with energy and confidence.
The annual 8th Grade Shakespeare Play is a cherished SAA tradition, blending literature and performance as part of the 8th grade language arts curriculum. Through the experience, students deepen their understanding of classic works by studying them in the classroom and bringing them to life on stage—a perfect fit for the hands-on learning style of middle school boys.
Under the direction of Mr. Brenden Moore, who has led this production for over 30 years, the students dedicated five weeks of preparation during their language arts period. Their hard work and enthusiasm culminated in a performance that will surely stand out as one of the highlights of their final year at The Academy.
A standing ovation to the Class of 2025 for their stellar performances! A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Mr. Moore for his unwavering dedication, as well as to the 8th grade parents who worked behind the scenes to ensure the success of this unforgettable production. Bravo, gentlemen!
