SAA's Annual Art Show: A Showcase of Talent & Creativity

SAA's Annual Art Show: A Showcase of Talent & Creativity

Posted April 30, 2026

Each spring, San Antonio Academy celebrates one of its most vibrant traditions: the annual school-wide art show, a joyful showcase of creativity, confidence, and student expression.

This year’s exhibition once again transformed the McCombs Gymnasium into a gallery, where artwork from boys across multiple grade levels filled the room with color and imagination. Families, faculty, and friends gathered to admire a wide range of pieces, each reflecting the unique talents and growing artistic skills of our young artists.

Art Show

The Pre-Kindergarten through 4th-grade boys showed off their work that explores bold shapes and playful color, while the Elementary and Middle School boys in the Art Studio elective demonstrated increasingly refined techniques and deeper conceptual thinking. Together, the collection highlighted both artistic growth and the joy of the creative process. Displays featured a variety of mediums and styles, offering a glimpse into the depth of The Academy’s fine arts curriculum, which emphasizes both foundational skills and creative exploration.

A highlight of the evening was the opportunity for families to purchase select pieces of student artwork, allowing families to take home a meaningful keepsake. Proceeds from artwork sales directly support the art program, further enriching classroom experiences and future creative opportunities for the boys.

Art Show

The show continues to run virtually through May 1 on Artome’s Online Art Show platform, with any additional artwork purchases arriving at SAA within the next few weeks. To view the Online Art Show, visit www.sa-academy.org/artshow.

A special thank you to SAA's art teachers, Ms. Eversberg and Ms. Bates, whose dedication, guidance, and passion make this showcase possible each year. Their commitment to nurturing creativity ensures that every boy has the opportunity to explore, create, and take pride in his work.

A Day at the Museum

San Antonio Academy welcomed families for “A Day at the Museum: Portraits of Leadership,” where 3rd graders presented a living museum that connected local history with personal growth. Through thoughtful presentations, the boys reflected on how influential figures have shaped their understanding of The Academy's four core pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Integrity, and Brotherhood.

Each gallery highlighted voices that have defined San Antonio and The Academy, while giving our boys the opportunity to speak with confidence and purpose. Events like this reflect SAA’s commitment to developing strong public speakers and young men prepared to lead.
