SAA 8th Graders Strengthen Bonds and Leadership at Enchanted Rock Retreat
Posted September 25, 2024
San Antonio Academy’s Class of 2025 returned last Friday from an inspiring two-day leadership retreat at Enchanted Rock, where students immersed themselves in the great outdoors while forging stronger bonds with their Academy brothers. The boys camped under the stars, hiked the rugged terrain, and explored a cave during their time at the state natural area.
During the trip, the students made a special stop at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery to pay their respects to Louis Jordan, an SAA alumnus and the first athlete to be inducted into the University of Texas Longhorn Hall of Honor.
The retreat, a hallmark of SAA’s leadership program, offered the 8th grade boys the opportunity to challenge themselves in a natural setting, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among classmates.
SAA's Military Leadership Program is one of The Academy’s many programs primarily funded by The Academy Fund, SAA’s annual giving campaign. Each year, gifts to The Academy Fund make a significant difference at San Antonio Academy by providing valuable resources and opportunities that turn the expected into the exceptional.
