Mark Biegler - Class of 1999 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

Mark Biegler - Class of 1999 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

It was an honor to have SAA alumnus and current SAA parent Mark Biegler, class of 1999, as our speaker for Alumni Monday during chapel on November 13, 2023. He spoke to the boys about some of his favorite memories while attending The Academy and left them with some great words of advice.

Alumni Monday - Mark Biegler

Mark attended The Academy from 1st to 8th grade. After graduating, he went on to attend Saint Mary's Hall for High School and then Southern Methodist University for college, where he received a degree in accounting.

In his engaging presentation, he gave the boys a few popular events that took place in the same year when he graduated so they could gain some perspective and relate to him better like the Spurs winning their first NBA championship and the creation of Pokémon and Spongebob

With the help of his two sons, Jack and Austin, he also used his time to share some of his fond memories as an Academy cadet and leave the boys with some advice to take with them as they continue their days at SAA and beyond.

Thank you, Mark, for joining us today.

holiday food drive

In the spirit of holiday giving, San Antonio Academy proudly announces the extraordinary success of our annual food drive in support of the San Antonio Food Bank. The annual school-wide initiative exceeded all expectations by collecting 24,000 pounds of food. This not only doubled our ambitious goal of 12,000 pounds but also surpassed last year’s total, setting an unprecedented record for our school.

Taylor Hall

It is with immense gratitude that we announce a gift that will greatly impact the future of San Antonio Academy. The Semmes Foundation has made a $5 million gift to The Academy, establishing the Semmes Foundation Head of School Endowment.

Investment income from this endowment will supplement the annual salary and benefits for the Head of School position, having an enduring and positive impact on The Academy’s operational budget for many years to come.
