Dustin Brownlow - Class of 2011 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

Dustin Brownlow, Class of 2011, joined us as the Alumni Monday speaker during chapel on April 1, 2024. He shared some of his favorite memories while at The Academy and encouraged the boys to recognize and value the privilege of being at a school that invests so much into their future.

Dustin Brownlow - Alumni Monday

Dustin started his presentation with a trip down memory lane, sharing pictures and stories of his accomplishments at SAA, such as winning the Humanitarian Award Essay Speech competition and the First Grand Prize at the Alamo Regional Academy Science & Engineering Fair. Although he only spent two years here, he spoke very fondly about the special bonds he formed in his short time. "That's one of the reasons why you come here," he explained, "because you get to be around some exceptional people and make these friendships that stay with you forever."

After graduating from The Academy, Dustin attended and graduated from Central Catholic High School. From there, he attended the University of Miami and graduated with a degree in marine geology, then went on to study law at Texas Tech School of Law.

He continued by reminding the boys of the sacrifice and love of their parents and family to send them to a school like The Academy,  expressing, "You all are worth it. I was worth it, and I'm grateful for it every day because it got me where I am." He concluded by also encouraging them to always live by the motto that they hear every day, as it will open so many doors for them in the future, just like it did for him.

About Alumni Mondays: Each Monday, we welcome an Academy alumnus to speak to SAA boys during chapel. During this presentation, our alumni speakers share meaningful stories and lessons from their days at SAA. View Alumni Monday Showcase

Ellison Hall was filled with pride, joy, and heartfelt expression as San Antonio Academy’s 2nd-grade boys took the stage for this year’s Poetry Extravaganza, a tradition that celebrates both creativity and confidence.

art show

Each spring, San Antonio Academy celebrates one of its most vibrant traditions: the annual school-wide art show, a joyful showcase of creativity, confidence, and student expression. This year’s exhibition once again transformed the McCombs Gymnasium into a gallery, where artwork from boys across multiple grade levels filled the room with color and imagination. Families, faculty, and friends gathered to admire a wide range of pieces, each reflecting the unique talents and growing artistic skills of our young artists.

A Day at the Museum

San Antonio Academy welcomed families for “A Day at the Museum: Portraits of Leadership,” where 3rd graders presented a living museum that connected local history with personal growth. Through thoughtful presentations, the boys reflected on how influential figures have shaped their understanding of The Academy's four core pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Integrity, and Brotherhood.

Each gallery highlighted voices that have defined San Antonio and The Academy, while giving our boys the opportunity to speak with confidence and purpose. Events like this reflect SAA’s commitment to developing strong public speakers and young men prepared to lead.
