Sponsored by The Womack Family Counseling Fund and SAA Parents Club, the evening program included a dynamic 60-minute talk followed by an interactive Q&A session, giving parents the opportunity to gather tools and insights to support their sons both at home and in school. The event is part of SAA’s ongoing speaker series, which brings expert voices to campus to engage families on issues of parenting and education.

Evans and Thompson extended their visit into the next day, leading a professional development workshop for Academy faculty on effective family partnerships and feedback. They also met with administrators over lunch to discuss national educational trends and the challenges of raising and educating boys, before concluding with a talk to 5th- through 8th-grade students in Ellison Hall.

SAA Boys Lend Helping Hands for Catholic Charities’ Project Turkey Box

In the spirit of service and gratitude, San Antonio Academy joined forces with Catholic Charities of San Antonio to support Project Turkey Box, a community initiative providing Thanksgiving meals to families in need. Over the course of three days, boys from every grade level worked to transform banana boxes into cheerful vessels for holiday dinners. Each box was wrapped, decorated, and included a handwritten Thanksgiving note. The small gesture will soon bring joy and nourishment to homes across San Antonio this holiday season. With Catholic Charities’ goal of preparing 500 boxes, Academy students made a significant contribution toward meeting that milestone. The project, held just a short walk from campus, offered boys a firsthand look at how small acts of service can make a big impact.
