David Robinson Jr. - Class of 2007 (Alumni Monday Speaker)

David Robinson Jr., Class of 2007, joined us as the Alumni Monday speaker on March 25, 2024. He shared his many memories during his years at The Academy and how recognizing and acting on great opportunities has helped him along in his life journey so far.

David Robinson Jr. - Alumni Monday

David attended Pre-K through 8th grade here at SAA before attending and graduating from San Antonio Christian for high school. After high school, he attended The University of Texas at Austin and studied communications. After moving to New York City and working in technology and finance for a while, he started to miss home, returning to San Antonio soon after. He received his master's degree in urban and regional planning from UTSA. Now, he and a fellow Academy brother, Reeves Craig '97, are working for Weston Urban, a development firm focused on building and growing downtown San Antonio.

After speaking about his journey and where life has brought him, David shifted back to how all this transpired, starting with the opportunity to attend The Academy. "Being at The Academy is one of the greatest opportunities you could get," said David as he spoke about wishing he could have taken the time to appreciate it more while he was here.

He concluded by encouraging the boys to make the most out of opportunities given to them, such as being able to attend a unique school like SAA.

About Alumni Mondays: Each Monday, we welcome an Academy alumnus to speak to SAA boys during chapel. During this presentation, our alumni speakers share meaningful stories and lessons from their days at SAA. View Alumni Monday Showcase

Athletic Achievements

Over the past year, Wildcat athletes gave us much to celebrate. Whether attending early morning cross-country practices or soccer matchups played at Classic Elite Sports Complex, the Middle School athletics teams demonstrated leadership, integrity, and brotherhood through both individual and team triumphs. Here, we celebrate a year of standout achievements from the field, the court, and beyond.

Foster Jenne Fraternitas Friday

On most Fridays during The Academy’s school year, an 8th grader steps up to the chapel podium to deliver a “Fraternitas Friday” speech for the entire school body, reflecting on one of the school’s core values. In the final presentation of the year, Foster Jenné offered a heartfelt message on brotherhood, honoring his older and younger buddies who helped shape his Academy experience, and also inviting each of his fellow Class of 2025 brothers to join him on stage in a powerful display of unity.

8th grade trip

In the final stretch of the school year, each San Antonio Academy grade, from curious Pre-K boys to graduating 8th-grade leaders, embarked on a purpose-driven End-of-Year Culminating Experience. Designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, each grade-level trip reflected The Academy’s mission to provide an exceptional education intentionally crafted for boys. Whether navigating high ropes courses, trekking the Grand Canyon, or tracing the paths of Texas history, each adventure is anchored in the school’s core values of scholarship, leadership, integrity, and brotherhood.

Gather Under the Oak Tree

Generations of Academy alumni gathered for a memorable evening at our annual Gather Under the Oak Tree event. Two dozen alumni spanning the classes of 1959 to 2015, returned to their elementary and middle school alma mater for an evening that honored the past while looking confidently towards the future. Highlights included a "State of The Academy" update, a symbolic walk through the Bondurant Gate, and a nostalgic campus tour.
