Brad Bergmann, Class of 1960 (Alumni Monday Speaker)
We were pleased to welcome SAA alumnus Brad Bergmann '60 as our speaker for Alumni Monday on August 29, 2022. He spoke to our boys about his unique adventures that led to the donation of multiple artifacts that are now kept in the San Antonio Academy Museum.
Mr. Bergmann graduated from Cal State University Long Beach with his MBA, which was signed by President (Governor at the time) Ronald Reagan. That diploma now sits in SAA's museum. From there, he ended up in Denmark, working in the finance division of a company that built mega oil tankers.
When his job assignment was finished, he traveled for two years through Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Nepal, where he acquired an extensive collection of artifacts that are also now a part of the school's museum.
He went on to encourage the boys with three lessons he learned during his time at The Academy, and concluded with a saying he learned while attending school: "An ounce of respect can overcome and avoid a hundred tons of trouble."
