2024 Wildcat Basketball Teams Claim Victory in Season Openers

The 2024 Wildcat basketball teams thrilled fans with wins in their 2024-25 season home openers against Concordia Lutheran on Tuesday, November 12.
The White Team secured a dramatic 26-25 victory over their opponents, with Kevin G. sinking the game-winning basket in the final seconds. Strong team defense kept the lead intact as the time expired, securing the win.
The Blue Team followed up with a 37-31 victory, led by Trammell W. and Carson R., who each scored nine points. It was a close game throughout the first half, but the Wildcats returned determined and ready to play as they pulled ahead in the second half.
Head basketball coach Howard Baer credited the team's defense and composure in breaking the full-court press as key to their success, which was especially impressive after just four days of practice. Both teams’ resilience and teamwork set a promising tone for the season ahead.

They'll also hear an Academy 8th grader deliver his Fraternitas Friday speech on the Pillars of an Academy Boy, and get a closer look at SAA's Military Leadership Program.

San Antonio Academy welcomed back alumnus Will Watson ’07 as the Alumni Monday speaker on December 1, 2025. Returning to campus for the first time in several years, Will shared reflections on his time at The Academy and the life lessons that have guided him through his education, career, and personal growth.

San Antonio Academy’s Outdoor Leadership Program is a key component of The Academy Experience, shaping boys into confident, capable leaders through meaningful study of the natural world. San Antonio Academy students welcomed some of their most favorite people into their school lives during the annual Grandparents and Grandfriends Day celebration. The morning featured joyful performances, student reflections on the school's Four Pillars, and a special look at the Outdoor Leadership Program before families gathered for a parade and time together in classrooms.
