Seven of our 7th graders were STATE-RECOGNIZED on the SAT under the aegis of the Duke TIPS program. One student was Nationally-Recognized, bringing to six the number of Academy boys who have attained National Recognition on the SAT in the past four years.
84% (32/38) of 6th graders have QUALIFIED to take the SAT in 2017-2018.
Five 8th graders WON scholarships to high schools including: SMH (Campbell Scholarship), Andover, McCallie, TMI, and Central Catholic.
The Academy’s robotics squad, the Robuccaneers and Team Infinity, SWEPT the top two places at the Regional Robotics meet. More than 50 5th-8th graders participate in SAA's robotics program.
SAA’s students performed well on the National Spanish Exam, which is administered to thousands of middle school students across the nation. Seven boys SCORED in the top 5% nationwide.
Six Academy 1st-5th graders WON awards for their performance in the AATSP San Antonio de Bejar Chapter Spanish Poetry contest. SAA’s contestants won three Gold medals and three Silver medals.
One eighth grader finished 4th in the Regional MATHCOUNTS Championship, thereby qualifying for the State Championship Meet.
An eighth grader WON first place in the Regional Science Fair, Environmental Category, qualifying for the State Science Fair.
Several SAA boys were RECOGNIZED in the Better Business Bureaus Laws of Life essay contest. One student won second place and another won fourth place. Three others were finalists.
During the past 5 years, 50 Academy grads have been RECOGNIZED as Eagle Scouts, and during the past eleven years, over 95 Academy grads have been elected or appointed more than 200 leadership positions.

The Academy’s Art Show included 211 works of art submitted by 130+ boys in grades 2-8. That means that 51% of the boys in grades 1-8 PARTICIPATED in the Art Show.
On April 5, The Academy’s Choir SANG the national anthem in front of almost 19,000 fans at the Spurs vs. Lakers, game while the SAA Honor Guard presented the colors.
SAA’s athletic teams posted an aggregate 26-12 record, WINNING almost 70% of their contests, including two League Championships in Soccer and Lacrosse. Most important, 94% of all boys participated in after-school athletic activities
