The annual Alumni vs. 8th Grade Basketball Game is an event both Academy boys and alumni look forward to each year. The tradition, beginning about two decades ago, is a friendly competition between the 8th Grade Wildcat Basketball Team and SAA alumni -- whose ages span across the generations.

Philippe Jones had an idea to help introduce the game of tennis to kids who typically don’t have the opportunity to play. With no experience but lots of passion, this third grader, with the help from ‘a small village,’ set out to see his vision come to fruition.

The MATHCOUNTS mathletes competed at St. Mary's University on February 9th. They went up against 16 other schools with more than 150 competitors.

Ishan Kanaskar rose to the top of a formidable field to win this year's Geography Bee title. The 7th grader outlasted his 10 other opponents, ending in a riveting final ‘lighting round’ with fellow classmate, Diego Morales.
"There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" The 8th Grade puts on two seperate performances of Shakespeare's Hamlet - A tragedy about Prince's Hamlet's revenge on his Uncle Claudius as he is driven to madness by the ghost of his father.
This competitive tradition brings alumni together with the 8th grade Wildcat basketball team for a fun annual rivalry.
Author, Kathryn Otoshi, engaged all ages during her visit on October 18. She opened by telling the boys that she sees books as doorways making it possible to go anywhere. Her books are full of symbols. She considers a solid line as the person who picks you up.
