Parent Education Presentations Featuring Drs. Rob Evans and Michael Thompson

Parent Ed Featuring Rob Evans and Michael Thompson

We invite our SAA families and community to join us on campus for these special parent education presentations featuring
Drs. Rob Evans and Michael Thompson.

"Parenting with Less Stress and More Joy"

Two Opportunities:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 27: 6:15-7:30 PM, Ellison Hall
  • Wednesday, Sept. 28: 8:30-9:45 AM, Ellison Hall

There is no harder job than being a parent. Nothing else touches so much of a person so deeply—or so unpredictably—and there is no training for it. This was true pre-COVID, as the pace of life accelerated, media influences intensified, and the future grew less predictable. So it’s no wonder parents now find it harder to be confident, how to reduce their children’s stress—and their own. Drs. Evans and Thompson will outline these dilemmas and offer concrete suggestions for successful coping.

Coffee with Dads: "The Importance of Fathering"

Wednesday, Sept. 28: 7:30-8:15 AM, Moody Refectory

We don't talk about role models; we talk about what makes fathering different than mothering.  We believe that while both parents "parent" and both parents can do so with equal skill, there are stylistic differences between moms and dads.
