The teachers at The Academy really help you. They communicate with you – it's not a big classroom full of students, and they don’t talk to a bunch of kids at once. You can go in, get the one-to-one help, and really experience the teacher for who they are and how they can teach you.

I think boys here do well with the rigor of academics because they get to have fun too, and it is just an incredibly vibrant school environment for them. There’s so many activities, so many sports, so many things that complement the academic program that I think that’s ultimately what makes it so effective.

My favorite thing about San Antonio Academy is the sense of true brotherhood among the boys. Whenever I walk on campus with my son, he’s high-fiving other students, at drop-off he’s wanting to stop at specific people because he wants to say ‘hi’… so our windows are down, we’re waving, and we’re doing this every single day. That sense of true friendship, brotherhood, and togetherness is my favorite part about The Academy.

This is a place where boys are nurtured. We really cater our teaching to the ways that boys learn. There are lots of choices and authentic learning experiences that make sense to boys. Because we are able to tailor our education to their strengths, we're also able to find their areas of weakness and meet their needs where they need to be met.

The most important thing is the brotherhood here because it taught me how to make friends, and how to be kind towards people. It also taught me how long friendship can last because I still contact a lot of my friends from San Antonio Academy.

San Antonio Academy’s Class of 2021 returned to campus for a reunion marked by reflection and reconnection as they prepare to graduate from high school and begin their college journeys. This fall, these alumni will attend a wide range of universities across the country, including MIT, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Tulane, UT Austin, Texas A&M, SMU, Wake Forest, and more. We’re proud of all they’ve accomplished and wish them the very best as they take this next step.
Two teams of 8th grade students took the Ellison Hall stage on Wednesday, May 14, for SAA's Annual 8th Grade Championship Debate. This year’s topic — Is the Global Warming Crisis Exaggerated? — challenged participants to present well-researched arguments and demonstrate their public speaking skills before an audience of faculty, classmates, and families.
As the Class of 2025 prepares to walk through the Bondurant Gate next week, officially closing their chapter as Academy cadets, we hope they’ll remain connected in the years to come. Their spring has been filled with meaningful traditions—from the class trip to the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce Canyon to the Shakespeare Play, Military Ball, Alamo Honor Guard, Alumni Luncheon, Championship Debate, and Commencement. It’s been a memorable culmination of their time at The Academy.
Alumni from the Classes of 1996 through 2024 returned to campus for our 3rd Annual Alumni Lacrosse Game—joining forces (and facing off) with the 7th/8th grade Wildcats in a friendly match that brought out a spirited display of brotherhood and competition.
