San Antonio Academy Parents' Club
All Parents and Guardians of Currently Enrolled Students are Welcome!
The Parents’ Club exists to provide both volunteer and financial support to The Academy in order to enhance and enrich our sons’ experiences at school. Every Academy family is automatically a member of the Parents’ Club. Dues are not required, but a $20 annual donation is requested of each family. All funds raised during the year go back to The Academy in the form of Teacher Wish List purchases, scholarship donations, or donations to the athletic department.
2010-11 Parents' Club Executive Commitee (coming soon)
What Does the Parents' Club Do?
We are involved in a range of activities at The Academy from hosting the annual Book Fairs to coordinating the Sally Foster Gift Wrap Sales to faculty appreciation. There is so much going on at SAA! We need your help to make it all work!
This year Parents' Club is led by Executive Commitee members:
President - Sandra Ford
Vice President - Vivienne Bathie
Treasurer - Paulina Martinez
Secretary - Patty Jeffers
Committee Members:
The students are so grateful for the members of this committee!
Every Wednesday afternoon, the Parents' Club volunteers are in
front of the gym selling snacks and drinks to the students after dismissal.
The Book Fair committee is responsible for coordinating and staffing
the book fairs during the year.
- Faculty Appreciation (Tressa Castro and Katherine Buzzini)
As much as the students enjoy the bake & snack sales, the faculty & staff love Faculty Appreciation Days. On the first Wednesday of each month and on selected days throughout the year, the Faculty Appreciation committee brings goodies for the SAA teachers.
· Sally Foster Gift Wrap Sales (Susan Meyer)
This annual fundraiser for the Parents' Club raises the largest amount of money during the year. The sale is early in the school year and requires a committed group of volunteers. Half of the money raised through Sally Foster automatically goes to benefit the athletic department at SAA. Now made even easier via online sales!
· School Dances (Estee Kellogg, Chairman)
This committee produces and hosts the five annual school dances for the 6th - 8th grade students. Volunteer jobs include sending out invitations, decorating for the dances, collecting money at the dance and chaperoning.
· Cowboy Breakfast (Elizabeth and Corbin Snow)
· Class Representatives (Deborah Miller)
· Alamo Honor Guard Parent Representative (Paulina Martinez)
Even More For Our Boys!
In addition to the amazing committee work, the Parents’ Club plays an active role
at the school in so many other ways. Did you know that the Parents' Club is the
publisher of the school calendar? We were also able to give SAA’s teachers
supplemental teaching tools to allow them the opportunity to expand the classroom
experiences for EACH of our boys.
