Discover The Academy
Since 1886 The Academy has done more than prepare boys for high school. The Academy educates them to succeed in life - scholastically, emotionally and physically. Academy boys graduate with a strong academic foundation, a positive self-image and much more. Boys learn that integrity, pride in achievement and kindness are as important as their scholastic work. At The Academy boys are taught to be honest, be kind and to be the best they can be.
Small classes and personal attention are hallmarks of an Academy education. As a result, classes fill quickly. If you are interested in The Academy, we suggest that you inquire now. Requirements for admission include school records and recommendations.

POLICY
San Antonio Academy accepts male students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin. The Academy’s process and criteria are outlined below.
PROCESS
Applicants to San Antonio Academy are required to submit a completed and signed application, a transcript of the child’s school work, any available standardized testing and at least one recommendation from the child’s previous school. In addition, all applicants are required to visit the school and attend classes for a designated time. San Antonio Academy accepts students whose overall performance conforms to the school’s mission and standards. In the case of 3rd - 8th grade candidates, it is expected that the students will have a B average or higher, standardized testing that conforms to the school’s admissions criteria and willingness to participate and contribute to the school’s diverse array of extracurricular programs.
Students who complete the admissions process are interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, which is determined by the date the application is received by the admissions office (this applies to applicants prekindergarten – 2nd grade). Applicants for 3rd – 8th grade will no longer be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Admissions Committee will review the pool of candidates and make enrollment decisions.
Once an interview has been completed, the applicant’s status is determined by the admissions process. The Admissions Office may recommend that exceptions to the acceptance criteria be made in special cases. Final approval in this and all other matters rests with the Headmaster.
