Athletics & Physical Education
The Athletic Program is divided into two groups: competitive sports, and physical education.

Academy students take physical education as a part of the school's curriculum, where physical fitness and self-discipline are emphasized. Most students take P.E. four times each week; two classes emphasize physical fitness, including conditioning and flexibility exercises, testing and games, which require running and movement. The other two classes emphasize specific sports such as soccer, football, basketball and softball. Basic skills used in other sports, such as track and volleyball, are also taught and practiced.
The Academy also offers after-school programs in competitive athletics so that each student will have the opportuntiy to participate in a positve, school-sponsored competitive sport. The student body takes advantage of this opportunity with over 95% involvement. SAA offers basketball, cross-country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and track.
