Mike has been coaching at SAA for 22 years. As Director of Athletics, he currently coaches varsity football. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. In 2008, Coach Heineman was recognized—alongside his twin brother, Chris—for Basketball Fame in the Hoosier State; to the Indiana Silver Anniversary Basketball Team. This distinguished designation was in recognition of his leadership on the Connersville High School basketball team twenty-five years ago. Heineman and his brother are the first-ever Silver Anniversary teammates to hail from the same high school.

Bobby has coached at SAA since 1999, where he has led the Tennis program while also serving in the P.E. department. Prior to The Academy, he coached football, basketball, track and golf at Eagle Lake Middle School and was head tennis coach at Southwest High School. An Academy Alum, Class of 1972, Bobby has a BS in Education (Physical Education/History) from Texas Tech University.
Natalie serves as the head coach of the Cross Country and runs the Ironman program. She also teaches Spanish in the upper school and co-advises the SAA Bluebonnet yearbook. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Christian University with dual degrees in Spanish and Radio-TV-Film, with minors in business management and journalism. Subsequently, she earned her teaching certificate through an alternative certification program. Prior to joining the Academy, she was a Diversity Marketing Director at SBC (now AT&T) for six years, and worked in Mexico City as an account manager for an international public relations firm.

Mike begins his 7th year at the Academy. He serves as the assistant coach in football, lacrosse and golf. This year is his first in taking over the Basketball program for Coach Heineman. Mike received his degree from the University of Wisconsin and has over 25 years of coaching and teaching experience.
A native of Austin, Texas, COL(Ret) Steve Marshall joined SAA in 2009 and is the school's Athletic Trainer for Football and Lacrosse. He also serves on the school’s Military Staff. He was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Texas A&M – Commerce from 1980-81, Director of Athletic Trainers for Austin I.S.D. from 1982-85, and worked with the U.S. Army Modern Pentathlon Team from 1985-87. In 1987 the Pentathlon team disbanded and Steve stayed on active duty serving in increasing positions of responsibility and rank until his retirement in 2009. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. He also holds certificates as a Wilderness/Remote EMT.

Brittany is the Head Soccer Coach at SAA where she is responsible for leading the team’s development and skill training. She recently obtained her National Youth Coaching license. Brittany has coached club soccer eight years and played for twenty, where over her career, she played national tournaments and won several state titles. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word, where she played collegiate soccer and was part of the Women’s Program that made it to the Elite 8 in 2007, also making it to the NCAA tournament every other year. In the summer of 2012, Brittany played in the WPSL for the Spokane Shine, winning the division.

Leon is a graduate of Abilene Christian University and a very talented teacher/coach with over twenty years of experience in the public school sector. He joined The Academy's teaching and coaching team in 2013. An Academy parent and volunteer, Leon knows San Antonio Academy, is committed to our mission, and understands our culture and our boys.
