In March of this year, John Webster announced that he would be retiring from the position as Head of School. The Board of Trustees assembled a strong nine-member team made up of board chairs, alumni, and faculty to lead the effort to find our next Head of School.
After a 10-month search process with participation from our faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and grandparents, the search committee and Board members unanimously selected Clint DuBose as the next Head of School.
Clint's skill set, communication and interpersonal skills make him a great fit for our boys, our community and our culture. Clint's honorable and distinguished service at Houston's Annunciation Orthodox demonstrated a proven track record of incredible and effective leadership. The love and respect Clint enjoys from each of his students, faculty and staff, parents and trustees at his previous school speak volumes about his character.
Since first meeting Clint in early October, he expressed his life-long goal of leading a school that honors kindness, honesty, and excellence. It is clear his personal philosophy fits perfectly with the San Antonio Academy’s motto “Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be.” He considers himself a life-long learner and works tirelessly to develop positive and meaningful relationships built on trust.
“It is humbling to know that I am now a part of a school whose rich history and traditions span one hundred and thirty years, and I will work tirelessly to live up to the standards set by the great leaders that have come before me” says Clint, adding “I will approach my responsibility as a steward of our great school with conviction and determination, putting our young men first in all that we do. I am passionate about providing our boys with the best education, and I am wholeheartedly committed to the continual growth of this beloved school.”
During the coming months, the Board of Trustees will coordinate various on-campus events to allow the administration, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and grandparents to continue to build relationships with Clint. Please join us as often as possible in the spring so that, by next school year, Clint and his family feel at home with their new family here at San Antonio Academy.
